Eldr’s new initiative – Youth For Elders

Before we talk about the initiative, let us tell you about Mr. Kaul. He is an 82 years old retired microbiology professor living in Kalyani Nagar, Pune. We met him through our WhatsApp community group and came to know that he had registered for the vaccination, but needed someone to accompany him to the vaccination center. As Mr. Kaul lives alone, it was quite a challenge for him, and as soon as we heard his plea, our team acted on it. One of our team members volunteered to visit Mr. Kaul and helped him through the whole vaccination process. The whole incident inspired us and reminded us of why we started eldr back in 2019.

Elders & Covid-19

Three years back the idea of Eldr was born with the purpose of helping elders to live a happy and healthy life. Since its inception, our approach has been mostly digital, and fortunately, we have been able to create an impact with our digital presence. But with a pandemic at all of our doorstep, we feel that it’s time to amplify the scale of actions. With COVID-19, Though the situation has changed our goal remains the same. That’s why we have decided to walk an extra mile and take action to create a real difference. For the last three months, our team members have been volunteering to help elders from our community. From registering them for vaccination to accompanying them to get vaccinated, our team members have shouldered the responsibilities with enthusiasm and compassion.

And now, We need your help in scaling the initiative.

A few pebbles can create ripples in the pond but thousands of them can create waves!

Hence, we are starting an initiative called #youthforeldr through which we want to encourage thousands of youngsters to walk the extra mile with us and participate in helping elders live happy and healthy lives.

Step 2 – Tell us your story along with a picture.
